Neil Marshall
Neil has been working in both film and television as an writer, director, editor and producer since his feature debut DOG SOLDIERS in 2001. His second feature THE DESCENT in 2005 was a critical and commercial smash, winning several awards including the BIFA for Best Director, and Empire award for Best Horror. He followed this success with the post-apocalyptic action movie DOOMSDAY in 2008 and historical adventure CENTURION in 2010.
In 2012 Neil directed GAME OF THRONES S2 Ep9 “Blackwater”, and followed that up with S4 Ep9 “The Watchers on the Wall” for which he received an Emmy
Nomination for Best Director. Neil has made a considerable name for himself in television directing the pilots for BLACK SAILS for Starz, as well as CONSTANTINE
and TIMELESS for NBC ask well as notable episodes of HANNIBAL and WESTWORLD. In 2017 Neil developed, produced and directed the Netflix reboot of classic
sci-fi series LOST IN SPACE quickly followed the same year by the feature franchise reboot of HELLBOY released in 2018.
In 2020 Neil made a return to independent film with the multi-award winning witch-hunt saga THE RECKONING and in 2022 THE LAIR which was the opening
night presentation at Frightfest London and also played Sitges in Spain. Most recently, Neil directed female driven revenge thriller DUCHESS, released 2024 and
COMPULSION, a giallo-style slasher movie, released 2025.
